Parents of Picky Eaters – Take Back Your Kitchen

The Unarguable 12

OK, so I have a couple of very picky eaters and I didn't like that my dinner table was becoming a war zone. I am huge fan of picking my battles and I want to eat dinner, maybe have a little wine, and find out what my family is up to. I DON’T want to argue about what is on the plate. So, here is just one of the survival techniques I have come up with (will add more later) to restore peace to my table.

It is called the Unarguable 12 and it is dictated to me by my 5 year old, Sadie. On this list are 12 food items that she will NOT argue with me about if served. On this list she was required to choose two veggies and two fruits and the rest was pretty much free of my interference. On the list was mac and cheese - no surprise there, chicken, rice, broccoli, green beans, grapes and apples and a few other healthy and not so healthy choices. Key here is they were her choices. She then signed this food treaty and we posted it on the fridge. It makes me a very happy mom to be able to point to this list and nip a potential blow up in the bud.
